why does it have to suck so much?
I’ve just tried installing messenger, mail and photo gallery on my girlfriend’s machine on which I had just reinstalled XP because its HDD broke and guess what? it didn’t work.
after starting the installer it installed "windows live sign-in assistant" in about 2 minutes and then it started downloading windows live mail and became stuck at "99% completed" for almost 30 minutes after which I decided to shut it off (it was still making internet traffic when I shut it off). I restarted it other 2 times and got the same result.
then I rebooted and discovered that explorer was taking almost 5 minutes to load because this "son of a bit" software added a startup entry and was hanging and crashing at each windows boot (maybe because it wasn’t finding an internet connection to resume the download since my GF has on-demand connection).
this sucks :@. where the hell are the offline installers?
