PS3 owners who’ve updated to the latest firmware (that’d be 2.10) can snag a new version of the Folding@Home app that enables a few useful new options like background music playback (go ahead, waste a few cycles, see if cancer cares) and automatic shutdown (after the current unit is complete, or after a set amount of time). And say, while you’re at it, you might want to join Team Engadget’s cancer-busting barnstormers — we don’t want to brag or anything, but we are ranked 24th worldwide. More here (or if you know your way around F@H, our team ID is 39227).
