Matsushita/Panasonic to Make Big Push Into LCD?

Matsushita, the parent of U.S. brand Panasonic, has been the industry leader in plasma displays for some time, all but eschewing LCD flat-panel TVs (it does offer a token three LCD models). There are rumors, however, that the company is in serious discussions with Hitachi about an LCD partnership that would include a nearly $3 billion Matsushita investment in a new Japanese LCD plant.
