Suddenly cant create MFC apps

Posted in Live (December 31, 2007 at 10:47 pm)

I needed to write a quick test application this morning. Fired up VS2005, went through the steps to create a Windows MFC application as I’ve done many times before then noticed there were no source files in the project. Closed VS and did the whole process again. Still no source files. Tried to add an MFC based class and had an error that this was not an MFC project.

Next I tried the same thing on VS2008. Same problem. I can’t seem to create an VC++ projects. I can load in and compile an old C++ project and I can create new C# projects not a problem.

This is the first time I have created a MFC app from scratch in the last month so can’t narrow it down to anything really. Anyone have any ideas? Am currently uninstalling then reinstalling VS2008 to see if that fixes things.

Cheers
