iPodObserver - Canada’s “iPod Levy” Dies

Canada’s proposed levy on digital audio recording devices, including Apple’s iPod media player, fizzled out and died on Thursday when the Federal Court of Appeal ruled that the Copyright Board did not have authority to impose tariffs on the devices. Had the Copyright Board gotten its way, Canadian consumers would have seen up to a CA$75 increase in the cost of media players
