Executive Team

Corigin is a private holding company specializing in real estate and private equity investments. Corigin is based in New York and is headed by Ryan Freedman, its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. With two core divisions, Corigin Real Estate Group and Corigin Private Equity Group, Corigin is focused on real estate development and investment and private equity ventures.

Ryan Freedman — Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Freedman is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Corigin Real Estate Group and Corigin Holdings, a private, family-controlled investment firm. Mr. Freedman’s diverse business experience provides him with a unique perspective to guide and implement the company’s strategic growth while allowing the company to leverage a variety of tactical partners to achieve its goals. He previously served as Chairman of Corigin’s predecessor company, Coalco New York, and its affiliates. Before joining Coalco, Mr. Freedman served as Managing Partner of City Center Investments, Inc, managing the acquisition and redevelopment of value-added multifamily real estate.

Mr. Freedman received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics.

Edward Baquero — President of Corigin Real Estate Group

Mr. Baquero is the President of Corigin Real Estate Group and is responsible for the day-to-day operations and the development activities of the company. Mr. Baquero has more than twenty years of real estate investment and development experience.

Prior to joining Corigin, Mr. Baquero served as President and CEO of Landmark Development LLC, an investment and development firm, which was acquired by Corigin in 2004. Prior to founding Landmark, Mr. Baquero founded Dominion Ventures Inc. in 1988, which included Dominion Properties Inc. and Dominion Hospitality Inc., private investment companies that developed, owned and operated real estate and hospitality businesses.

Mr. Baquero holds an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business and London School of Economics, and an MS from NYU in Property Asset Management. Mr. Baquero has served as a member of New York University’s adjunct faculty where he taught corporate finance and is an active member of several of its boards, including Vice President of the Alumni Board of Directors.

Spencer Romoff — Vice President and General Counsel

Mr. Romoff is Vice President & General Counsel of Corigin and has over fifteen years of legal experience in tax, accounting, finance, and general real estate matters. Prior to joining Corigin, Mr. Romoff served as Senior Counsel and Director of Business Development at America Online, Inc. Prior to America Online, Mr. Romoff was a senior tax associate at Proskauer Rose LLP.

Mr. Romoff holds a JD from the American University Washington College of Law where he graduated with Honors, a Masters in Tax law from NYU School of Law, and a BA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Thomas Landherr — Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Landherr is the Chief Financial Officer of Corigin and is responsible for directing the company’s financial policies and oversees all financial functions. Mr. Landherr, a Certified Public Accountant, brings more than twenty years of accounting experience focused on real estate development, construction, and property management. Prior to joining Corigin, Mr. Landherr served as Vice President and Director of Development Accounting for New York-based Douglaston Development, a full service real estate development company specializing in New York City-based residential and mixed-use projects.

Mr. Landherr received a BBA degree in accounting from Hofstra University and is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Will Olivares — Vice President

Mr. Olivares is Vice President of Corigin and is responsible for orchestrating and collaborating with internal and external team members to execute the firm’s investment initiatives. Mr. Olivares has over ten years spanning the full gamut of real estate development, finance, sales/marketing, design construction, and project management. Most recently, Mr. Olivares headed the Miami office of Coalco, Corigin’s predecessor company, where he oversaw day-to-day operations for a two million square foot ground-up development. Prior to joining Coalco, Mr. Olivares served as Vice President of Development for Landmark Development LLC, a real estate investment and development company that specialized in luxury residential development.

Mr. Olivares earned a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University with distinction as an honors scholar.

Greg Gleason, CFA — Director of Finance

Mr. Gleason is the Director of Finance at Corigin and is responsible for evaluating Corigin’s investment transactions, designing capital structures, and sourcing financing. Prior to joining Corigin, Mr. Gleason held various positions at DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners (“DLJ”), a $4 billion global real estate private equity manager. At DLJ, Mr. Gleason was responsible for opportunistic real estate acquisitions and asset management. During his four-year tenure at DLJ, Mr. Gleason participated in the investment of over $400 million of equity capital. Prior to DLJ, Mr. Gleason was an associate of Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage in their special asset management department, where he specialized in commercial loan restructurings, loan resolution, and REO portfolio.

Mr. Gleason graduated from Emory University with a BA in Economics and has been a CFA Charter holder since 2007. Mr. Gleason previously served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Real Estate Finance Association (REFA) in Boston.

Louis J. Hanna — Director of Investor Relations

Mr. Hanna is Director of Investor Relations for the Corigin Apartments investment strategy and Chief Market Strategist with Corigin Holdings. In these roles, he is responsible for capital raising, relationship management, investor communications, and family office capital allocation.

Prior to joining Corigin, Mr. Hanna held senior executive and business development roles with ING Furman Selz Capital, Paradigm Funds, and American Independence Funds. He has over twenty years of diverse investment management experience and has raised over $2 billion in new capital.

Mr. Hanna holds a JD degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law, a BA in Economics from Rutgers University, and has completed coursework toward his MBA at Drexel University. He holds his Series 7, Series 65, and Series 63 securities licenses.

Christopher Jett — Director

Mr. Jett is a Director at Corigin. He is primarily responsible for the CMA platform and its property management affiliate. He has been operating the day-to-day oversight and direction of our New York University (NYU) student-housing portfolio since 2009. Corigin’s NYU student housing portfolio includes five buildings master-leased to NYU, containing 715 apartments and housing 2,400 students.

Prior to joining Corigin, Mr. Jett worked for City Center Investments where he served as its Senior Project Manager on various multi-family projects.

Mr. Jett served in the United States Coast Guard for three years and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Buffalo with a BA in Political Science.

Jonathan Grzyb — Director

Mr. Grzyb is a Director at Corigin. He is primarily responsible for the CMA platform and its property management affiliate. Mr. Grzyb brings diverse experience to the investment platform from both the public and private sector in project management, leadership, and strategy development. Prior to joining Corigin, Mr. Grzyb served in an advisory role to the Secretary of Homeland Security.

Mr. Grzyb received a Bachelor of Science with high honors from the United States Coast Guard Academy and holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Stewart Osborne — Director of Development

Mr. Osborne is the Director of Development for Corigin and has over twenty years of experience as an architect, developer, and construction manager.

Prior to joining Corigin, Mr. Osborne served as a Senior Project Manager for Landmark Development LLC, a developer of NYC-based ultra-luxury residential projects. Prior to Landmark, Mr. Osborne worked at the Rockwell Group as a Project Manager.

Megan Maciejowski — Senior Project Manager

Ms. Maciejowski is a Senior Project Manager at Corigin and has over ten (10) years of experience in real estate finance and transaction management. Prior to joining Corigin, Ms. Maciejowski served as Vice President in the Real Estate Finance and Securitization Group at Credit Suisse where she managed due diligence and closing on more than 400 transactions valued at more than $6 billion.

Ms. Maciejowski graduated with distinction from the University of Kansas with a BS from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
